I Have Been Surgerized.

Aug 29, 2007 09:00

I had three moles removed from the upper left side of my back on Monday. The actual removal wasn't all that awful, I'm happily surprised to report. I lay on my stomach on the tabley bed thing and the doctor put a big sheet of papery stuff with a hole in it on my back. The hole went over the mole (poetry!) and the top part of the papery thing ( Read more... )

Am trying to resist saying holy moly, but cannot. I apologize. The itchy? it might be the adhesive on the bandaid. I have issues with surgical tape/bandaid adhesive etc that makes me itchy. Big gentle hugs to you.

Oh dear god. Holy moly? That is hilarious!

I think it probably is the adhesive. Because it's sore and very not enjoying being touched where the actual stitches are, but it's the surrounding area that's itchy. I think. I'm afraid to actually touch any of it, just in case the unzipping happens.

Hmmm. If said unzipping happens, you could rent your old skin out as a TristaSuit ala Men In Black?

Apparently I took an extra Morbid pill this morning, don't mind me.

Like an Edgar suit! Awesome. That's one of my favorite lines from the movie. :)

I imagine the Morbid pill has fun side effects.

I've had moles removed on at least three occasions, and I hate how they give you no choice about whether or not you want them sent to the lab for cancer analysis.

My insurance didn't pay for the lab tests for some reason, so it was, like, $80 per mole, which was ridiculous since they were moles I'd had my entire life that I was only removing for aesthetic reasons. They'd have killed me long ago if they'd been cancerous, but let's just ignore me when I point that out and treat all patients as if they're retarded. (Admittedly, 75% probably are, but still...)

I actually wanted them analyzed, just in case, but yeah. It would be beyond irritating to be forced to pay for that if you weren't concerned about cancer at all and were paying out of pocket. I think that would give me the rage.

Good Lord. I need sleep - I read that as you had 3 molars removed from your back! I had to re-read that sentence 3 times!

*hug!*

I am, admittedly, not the most normal person ever. I am not, however, that big a freak! Would have made the story more interesting, though, wouldn't it? ;)
