platypus, who sent me the most wondrous marvel of glitterosity in Christmas card format, would like to know if it is snowing here in Minneapolis.

Bring a small jar of water and apologize that the snow you brought melted. Do put it in your checked bag, though. Wouldn't want the water to freak out the TSA.

I dunno. The map is clearly wrong. Because on wednesday, my mom, the Floridian, is flying to Utica, New York, to be with her not-quite-boyfriend. And she absolutely hates snow, so there damned well better be some there. Because it's frelling upstate New York, and when is there ever not snow in upstate New York?

*shriek*

How awful would that be? And yet I actually considered it for a minute. I am a bad, bad Aunt The trista

The cool old guy who lived next to where my parents built their house 20 years ago had a little "curio museum" on his back porch. Among his collection was a snow globe that had a little plastic top hat and a couple of beads in it, labeled "Florida Snowman".

this is as close as I've seen on the web today.

Actually, it's supposed to dump rain/sleet/snow tomorrow afternoon, and then switch to snow overnight and go through Friday. Not that that really helps because: a.) it won't be much, and b.) you'll be hundreds of miles away before then.

There is only one solution. You must give Matthew a Snoopy snow cone maker for Christmas so he can make snow every day!

I used to have a VERY long distance relationship with a girl in FL. Spent Xmas and New Year there 99-00

And loved the fact that I went to Disney on the 26th Dec in shorts and short sleeve shirt :D

Of course, it was complete HELL in summer

Looks like it's going to be in the 70s most of the time I'm there. Sweet. You're right about the summers, though. I lived there for 21 years and never managed to adjust to the heat. It was horrible.
