What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
Philadelphia

The Inland North

It sounds like your accent is full of mysteries. That's useful for being an alluring and enigmatic stranger.

How's your cold?

Your comment came back! It was there, and then it disappeared, and now here it is again. Weird!

My cold is icky. My snot content is low, considering, and that is a good thing. I feel weak and achy and slow, though, and that's not at all fun.

I think I like the idea of being alluring and enigmatic and mysterious. I'm totally going to go with that. :)

I've just tried this and got the same result as you. Since my accent is most definitely English then I think yours might be too.
(The good news is that the only part of me that has ever been described as sexy by a stranger was my accent when I was in a shop in downtown Minneapolis).

Ooh, maybe that means all of the Minneapolitans are just dying of teh sexay when I talk to them with my English-ish accent. Because that would be good for my ego. Probably, though, I just sound confused rather than English.

Being a non-native speaker, my English is a weird mix of all these influences I've picked up in the course of my adventures. I suppose the Irish influence is especially strong, since I lived in Ireland for a year. I know my accent isn't typically Finnish at any rate.

One of these days I'd really love to hear all about your adventures. When did you live in Ireland? What part? I had two penpals in Ireland when I was younger, and I always wanted to visit.

I did an exchange in Galway on the west coast of Ireland 2000-2001. It was a fabulous year! *swoon*

This quiz is so wrong :) I got 'Midland' but really my normal speaking accent is bastardized well-spoken Southern with a tinge of Ulster. That Ulster comes out more when I speak to someone from there. I notice though that if I talk to someone with a pronounced accent for very long, I'll end up talking just like them. I'm not making fun, its just very easy to pick up an accent.

My dad is like that. He picks up accents and speech patterns very quickly. He's mentioned a few times that he worries that people will think he's mocking them, but he honestly doesn't realize he's doing it until someone points it out. I find it absolutely hilarious, myself. It is impossible to listen to my dad, who is not a small man, sounding like a little Thai lady. :)

You're right! Everyone sounds Southern on a CB. I think it's one of the laws of physics.
