Rambly Friday Post

Oh dear god, I love my job. I love what I spend my time doing, the way I leave the office every day feeling as though I've accomplished something, and the way I feel appreciated by the people I work with and for. I love knowing that I'm good at what I do and that I'm really pouring myself into my work. I love working with my coworkers, because ( Read more... )

All exclamation points - all the time! rebecoming September 29 2006, 20:03:57 UTC
Wow!! I'm glad your job is going so well! That's great.

Poor Linus! I hope he is all better tomorrow and can avoid the stinky vet!

And that's so great that Eddie continues to come out of his shell! :)

They scare me, but I have heard many people say they love those wax-bath-things.

Speaking of the lottery, I need to start playing it! I got some coupons in the mall that make these $2 lottery tickets buy-one-get-one-free for the next few months. It's worth a try...

I am all in lurve with my job. It's such a fabulous thing to feel good about going in to the office in the morning, and to still feel that way when I leave in the evening.

I hope Linus can avoid the vet, too. I don't much like going to the doctor, but at least when I go, I know why I'm there. Poor Linus will have no idea why I've packed him into a carrier and taken him to be poked and prodded. He'll just think that people are being mean to him for no reason. And that sucks.

Eddie is really doing well! He almost always walks from place to place in a normal-for-cats sort of position, rather than that belly-dragging skulking thing he did when he first came home with me. He looks confident and comfortable, and seems un-miserable these days. He's still easily startled, but he doesn't seem frightened so much anymore. It's really wonderful to see the difference. I think Linus has been fantastic for him. :)

The lottery thing is definitely worth a try! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :)

It's so amazing about your job! I hope I have that experience someday.

And I'm glad to get some L&E reports! They are like Yoko's cousins - or something.

Yoko hates the vet, too, of course. She does get over it pretty quickly once she's home, though.

I wonder if Eddie will ever like brushing. Some cats just don't. Yoko is not scared of her brush - in fact, she likes to bite it. But I can only really brush her for a couple strokes. It overstimulates her or something and she gets all AAAAHHHH and bitey.

Eddie really, really loved the brush on one particular occasion, but he was high as a kite on catnip. He sat on the window shelf for a good fifteen minutes while I brushed him, and then he abruptly reached his brushing saturation point and ran away. Since then, he's skipped the brushing portion of the festivities and moved straight to the running away part when I bring out the brush. I have no idea whether the two are connected.

Linus, on the other hand, loves the brush. He loves it, he loves it, he loves it, ohmygod stop now or I will bite whatever I can reach aaaaiiie. So that's always an adventure. It sounds as though he and Cousin Yoko have that in common.

How is she these days? I so love it when you post about her. She seems like such a character. I heart her. :)

I cannot wait for sweater weather myself. I miss my cute sweaters during the 9 months of summer in Louisiana.

I recently caught one of those parrafin wax things on sale for only around $16.00 and I am thisclose to getting my husband to do it with me. See on the box it says something about how it is a good treatment for arthritis, which he has, so voila, me and husband playing manicure at the kitchen table under the auspice of improving his joint health. If only he'd let me do something about those cuticles.

I got a paraffin wax thingy! I haven't used it yet because it took forever for the wax to melt and then life got in the way, but I'm so totally giving myself a glorious mani-pedi today.

Hee! I can just see you trying to convince him to let you paint his nails. ;)

Oh, yeah. They get into the bottom cabinets ridiculously easily. I once found Eddie curled up in the outer part of the crock pot. The upper cabinet is a bit more of a challenge for them. For that, they start by jumping onto the counter on one side of the kitchen, then across the kitchen and onto the fridge, and then they open the cupboard over the fridge and make themselves at home. It's hilarious and also very frustrating.

I'm an admin, supporting a team of 20. And I love it, which surprises the hell out of me when I think back to my attitude at Medicaid and how different my feelings were then about being an admin.
