Ribbit.

I had a busy day yesterday. Two loads of laundry washed, dried, folded or hung, and put away. Two heads of lettuce and one really dirty bundle of spinach washed, dried, and put away. All of the other produce washed and dealt with, too. The fridge cleaned out, the dishes washed, the apartment tidied. A glorious dinner prepared, eaten, and ( Read more... )

You're showing great dedication and acceptance! Often when I find I've made a mistake I can't live with in a project, I get grumpy and hide the project, unfinished...probably forever.

What are the three colors?

I would never do that! I would certainly not have a project called That Fucking Flowery Blankie, a project that's been in progress for about four years, in a box in my closet. Oh, no. Not me!

It's blue, deep red, and green:

Huh. The colors look an awful lot better in the blankie than in a comment.

Frogging things that don't matter to me *is* a lot of fun. I actually love the look of the crimped yarn. Just not when it's just come from a project I've put too much time into. So I feel for you.

Where did you get instructions on making a center-pull ball of yarn! I want! Ooo ooo I want! It would become my best friend EVAR!

I can't remember where I found them, but I assure you I will find them again. I feel very Scarlett O'Hara here. As God is my witness, I'll never wind a non-center-pull ball of yarn again! As soon as I do find the instructions I'll send you a copy or post them or something. :)

I love the look of crimped yarn, too, but it can be impossible to work with. Sometimes it just refuses to do what I want it to, and it makes my stitches all weird and just sort of off. I usually find something else to use it for, though. I hate wasting yarn.

Perfect! That's not where I originally found the instructions, but this is explained more clearly than the instructions I had, anyway. That rocks. Thanks so much for the link. :)

What did you end up making with your ginormous yarn ball yarn?

Yep, it's frogging. Because you rip it. Ribbit. Hee!

That pop is very, very satisfying, isn't it? At least, when you're not fuming about having to rip back. I'm not sure whether it's the destruction that's so gratifying or if it's something else, but it really is fun if you're not in the process of kicking yourself while you're frogging.

I wish I could remember where I found the instructions. Finding them again is high on my list, though, so they'll likely be posted soon.
