1. What do you normally eat for breakfast?I cannot bring myself to get up before 4:45 in the morning, which means I don't have time to eat breakfast before I leave for work. I keep a bunch of stuff in the office that is easy to carry on the bus and not likely to go bad before I get around to eating it. Most of the time I have a bagel (lately with ( Read more... )

Were you really? It must be a sign! We should have green eggs and ham while reading Dr Seuss.

Oh, yeah. Most mornings it is quite a challenge, let me tell you. I have to leave for the bus stop at just a bit after 6:00. I'm usually ready ten to fifteen minutes before I have to leave, but I just know that if I try to sleep later I'll miss the bus, and if I miss my first bus I'll be well over an hour late for work.

I didn't used to like grits, but now I do. They're good!

I like lots of breakfasty foods - especially toast.

Grits make me happy. Especially cheese grits. Yum. Oh, and I like to stir in my scrambled egg. It looks weird, but it tastes really good.

I like breakfasty foods, too. I like to have breakfast for dinner. And toast! Oh, I love toast.

Yeah! I like breakfast dinners quite a lot, too!

I also like oatmeal and cream of rice.

Right now, I am eating a banana.

I don't think I've ever heard of cream of rice. Hmm. Maybe I'll have to look for it.

What sort of oatmeal do you like best? My favorite is cinnamon apple. That's what my mom used to make for me when I was little, and I've always loved it. :)

Yay for bananas! I especially love them in my cereal.

I love grits. As a lifetime New Yorker, this is apparently very odd. You can't get them anywhere--restaurants, at least--so you have to buy 'um and make them at home (a whole five minutes, what a chore). I've tried to introduce grits to several friends, but they just don't understand.

OMG, I'm going to have some right now.

I know! I have yet to find a restaurant here at the North Pole that has grits, and this saddens me. But Target has instant grits, and that helps to make up for it.

My friends don't understand, either. One of them asked me how to make "a grit." A grit! I thought I was going to die. And they don't understand how very, very tasty grits are. They are truly missing out on a glorious thig.

Grits are gross. Dictionary.com defines a grit as "Minute rough granules, as of sand or stone. " I don't think they taste like dirt, but I still think they're yucky.

I lurve beans on toast. It is fantastic. Except once, I was talking on the phone to mom while I was getting everything together, and then I had to get rid of her to eat. Then I promptly had to call her back to blame her for distracting me enough that I was eating beans on bread. It isn't disgusting, but it's not the same at all. :P

*shriek*

I've never had beans on bread, but I can't imagine it being as good as beans on toast. None of my American friends or FriendBots understand the glory of beans on toast. It is tragic. My English friend, Glenn, who I met last summer, understood, though. So I'm thinking it must be a Limy thing.

Yeah. Me, too. DK is disturbed by them. He just looks at me like I'm a contestant on Fear Factor when I have them for dinner. Matthew is interested in them, but will only eat toast if he's dipping it in a boiled igg, so the whole beans on the toast deal hasn't happened yet. Normally, I have beans on toast, and he has beans by themselves. I think they're one of his favorite foods. :)

Tommy thought beans on toast was the worst thing evar and also did the Fear Factor stare thing at me when I had it. It's odd, because he likes beans and he likes toast. I don't get it. Not just him, but, you know, people in general.

Does Matthew like igg whites, or just the igg yellows? I still think the whites are repulsive. Ugh. I'll eat them if they're scrambly, but the idea of eating them in hard boiled (or soft boiled, for that matter) format? Oh, sweet shrieking Jesus, that's right up there with mushrooms. Bleck.

Has Matthew asked for his soldiers on toothpicks yet? I think I'm going to suggest it to him.
