Please tell me that you didn't read the S. Morgenstern version! That was a political satire with some good bits thrown in to keep people from killing him. Go, read the William Goldman version.

I'm not sure now which one I had. It may well have been S. Morgenstern. It was absolutely dreadful, whichever it was. Ugh. I'll have a look at the Goldman version next time I'm in the book shop.
