Must remember that it is no longer soda. It is now pop.

*shriek*

Must also remember that the people who live here and say things like pop are not the weirdos. Nor are they the ones with the bizarre accents.

Nope. The freak with the weird accent is me.

*shriek*

weird, not in kansas anymore, culture shock, shriek, accents

I keep telling myself that, but I'm surrounded by people who disagree. I wonder if I'll pick up a Minnesota accent? I fought for 21 years to avoid a Southern accent, and I'm pretty sure I failed. I evidently still have a bit of my English accent, and that combined with the Southern is bad enough. Imagine throwing a bit of Minnesota in with it!

*shudder*

Oh man... LOL! Honestly, I can't even imagine, at all. But hey! On the upside people will always wonder where you are from! =D I don't even know what I sound like lol.

I don't think I sound like I have any sort of regional accent at all. I am told, though, that I am very much mistaken in this belief.

Reminds of when I went to Portland to see my best friend Todd. I made mention to a native Portlander that Todd and I called almost every day to yak at each other, at which time the native began guffawing until a lung flew out of his mouth. Lesson learned: In the South, yakking is talking. In the Pacific Northwest, yakking is vomiting. Go figure.

That's hilarious. I've heard it used both ways, but have never mistaken one meaning for the other. I can only imagine the mental image that Portlander must have had!

I feel a bit better. You might have to pat me on the head and reassure me again, though.

You're both wrong (it's "Coke"). ;)

Yes! Doesn't matter what the bottle or can says, and it doesn't even have to be a cola. If it's a bubbly soda thing, it's a Coke.

I heart your Krispy Kreme icon. :)
