Real liked the vibe you had going on between the boys, and the plot was very well thought-out and developed. I liked that you took the time to explain why the case was different than the standard poltergiest. The supporting characters were fleshed out in a way that made them real. And Dean's problem was a a nifty twistbecause it wasn't job-related.

Thank you!
Glad you liked the boys - because siblings fight - antagonism and love all wrapped up in the same package.
Dean's problem was loosely based on something that happened to my own brother. Family vacation out west - and the slightest thing would set it off.

Yes - kinda strange, isn't it? The closer to nicking a vein we get, the more compelling a story.

You did a great job weaving an unrelated-hurt into an interesting case, making it complex on multiple levels. The level of urgency of the case mirrored the increasing severity of the nosebleeds too, which was a deft touch in terms of the storytelling.
Great job! :)

Oh wow! Thank you!
Yes, this is loosely based on this happening to my brother - meaning the nosebleeds where clearing your throat would start one, he did have the bleeding from the eyes. It is more common in children (nasal vessels closer to the eyes), which - in hindsight - I probably should have had the doctor mention, so that Sam could have gotten a laugh in at Dean's expense. ::snaps her fingers:: Ah, well.

That's an interesting fact about the nosebleeds, though. *files away for future reference*

I liked your effortless storytelling, where you create characters through their responses, instead of through how they are described by others. The details you put in the case was also a nice change from the standard "poltergeist = purification rite, no explanation necessary"-thing.
I've never had a nosebleed in my life, but my brother used to get them a lot when he was little. The doctor did the cauterize thing, but instead burnt too much and in the end his septum disintegrated and he had to have a titanium plate inserted to keep his nose, uhm nose-shaped.

"Effortless storytelling." I'm blushing, I'll have you know. Wow. Thank you.
Eek! Your poor brother!
