Yeah, Bobby to the rescue! Loved Bobby in this chapter! And we are getting close to what is wrong with Dean... I loved the line about not dating the idea - just being friends! Lovely writing there....

You really write Dean in character very well.

This bit:
"Dean's brain was curling up with the idea that maybe there was a lesson here about ignoring illness and being more open, but his brain was also sick and tired and oxygen-deprived, so it decided to not date the idea, to just be friends."

Is pure gold.
