IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE COMPUTER GUY WAS INCOMPETENT.
Dad said something about checking if your laptop's ip address is your network's ip address. He dictated a whole list of instructions to me here in an attempt to show his skillage 1.First go to a computer (say your old laptop), which can connect to the internet, and check the IP address of the wireless connection. You can do that by doing the following
( ... )
have you looked at your internet options; click on the tools button and then check that it doesn't tick 'automatically dial a connection', if that's all in order go to the advanced options, and if you still have your old laptop copy all the selections from that. if that's still not it, maybe try going
Control Panel > Network and internet connections > Network connections > Local area connection > Properties > select internet protocol TCP/IP and click PROPERTIES > tick 'obtain an IP address automatically' and tick 'Obtain DNS server address automatically > click OK
if this doesn't work i really can't think of anything else. i had a hell of a time trying to get my modem to work with bb's old laptop. goodluck!
Haha I have had so many computer issues over the years that that was one of the first things I tried. In the end, I have (with the help of BB and her dad) narrowed it down to be a network problem. NOW TO PHONE THE COMPUTER MAN AGAIN.
When are you going to scan/photo the stuff you have been drawing so I can see them (SINCE I NEVER SEE ANYONE OUTSIDE THE LAW LIBRARY)??!
i would take photos of my uni work IF my camera worked on this computer. at the moment, it doesn't and i don't think it ever will. i need to get an external memory card thingy. oh well. what i really need is a laptop. ahahahahaa.
but i do post comic and stuff on lj, so i dunno, maybe browse through my posts, and you'll find something you hadn't seen before.
Haha. My camera doesn't work AT ALL. If I had any money, I would totally buy a new one. But...I don't have any money. I have seen the comics! THEY ARE AWESOME. I am forever in awe (and utter jealousy) of your talent.
Everything is so-so, the same as usual. Dying under piles of work. As usual. Nothing new! How about you? LET ME LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR VAST AND ADVENTUROUS EXPLOITS
