It's really, really cool to have some contact (even if it's just virtual) with someone who is actually making their living freelancing. What kind of pieces are you writing? And are you going to post any of your novel online?

Up until recently, I worked in educational publishing, which is a different animal than trade publishing or advertising. But they are all counterintuitive. Definitely.
Mostly I'm writing fiction. I'm letting the NaNo novel percolate in the back of my mind for a few weeks (probably until mid-January). I may post a chapter or two online, but I'm afraid if I dig it out now, I'll start fiddling with it, and it's just too soon. Writing the novel was hard, nearly every word of it. And my first draft really sucks. I need enough time away that it will seem new again. Maybe I'll post a short story soon? I'm working on one now, about a woman who meets her future ghost. Sca-wy!
