WikiNanami Profile (Click spoilers to see more on her o7)
And some reviews just in case As note, I won't be playing from the anime adaption but the visual novel. The anime however managed to follow the main true storyline of the visual novel which is where I'll be playing Nanami from. Although, the anime did add in things that didn't happen in the VN like Kozue and Sena fighting fake Norose but none of those affect Nanami herself. If that's still not cool then I can rewrite the history section as needed :|b
And here's an explanation on a certain term that pops up a lot. Okay, so a "Giga-lo-maniac" is a someone who's able to make delusions into reality. For this they use a weapon called a Di-sword that are able to cut through reality and from there they create their delusion and make it real. However, to do this this they need their delusion to be "real booted" which in short means that their delusion needs to be accepted as "real" by a normal person. There's a lot more scientific stuff behind this but that's the short gist of it.
Personality:
If you were to ask Takumi, he'd describe Nanami as his annoying loli-embodied little sister who doesn't know when to stop bugging him. But, thankfully, there's more to Nanami than that!
To start off, Nanami is your typical high school girl. Due to her cheerful personality in contrast to her anti-social brother, she's very a social girl and is extremely willing to talk to just about anyone! She's energetic and this shows in her actions in everything she does. From her Tennis Ball practice where she puts too much energy into hitting the ball to her dragging her brother around into doing things he doesn't want to do. Nanami shows no fear on her cheerful exterior. The only time you'll see this girl show any lack of energy is when she's lacking food in her stomach. Other than that, she's always at full blast in everything she does. Basically, she's very out spoken and her emotions are easily readable and shown on her face.
However, despite that, she's a lot harsher and possibly a little whiny especially when it comes to her older brother. This is shown when she's always scolding him or getting into arguments with him whenever they meet. It's rare for these two to have a "touching siblings" moment. The reason for this is that Nanami is usually scolding Takumi for his life style since he kind of fails at taking care of himself. While she whines and complains to her friends about her otaku of a brother, Nanami genuinely worries about him and only just wants what is best for him even if he just thinks she's just trying to get on his case.
The fact of the matter, though, is that Nanami loves her brother. One key component to Nanami in the series is love. She gets extremely happy from the simple things they do together no matter how little it is. Such as shopping to buy a cellphone, suggesting they have matching cellphones, or even eating and teasing each other at the local fast food joint. And she really, really just loves even the smallest gift he could possibly give her. Like the bangle bracelet that she receives from him (which was actually an extra from something else that he didn't need but she asked for it), Nanami treasures that bangle like it's something worth millions. When she's tortured into becoming a Giga-lo-maniac, the one thing they do to her is remove the hand where she wears that bangle. The first time you see her after that point, she even continues to concentrate more on the bangle than the pain of her hand being gone. So, yeah, she's a very, very dedicated little sister.
But it's thanks to the dedicated side of her that makes Nanami have a loyal personality. Even after learning the truth that Takumi isn't exactly her real brother, she continues to love him and treats him as another older brother to her. Another example is that before she forgot Shogun, even though he had a weak body and was hospitalized Nanami put priority on him and took care of him all the time. Since she before he was hospitalized Nanami felt that she had been unfair to Shogun and only ever complained to him.
Over all Nanami is an energetic girl who uses her loud tendencies to speak her mind. Especially if it's about her brother in an attempt to make him live a relatively healthy life style. Since, you know, he's her brother after all.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Social! Like stated in her personality section, Nanami loves talking to people in comparison to her anti-social brother.
+ Energetic! Again, in comparison to her brother, she's a much more physically fit person than him.
+ Loyal to the people she loves. (Even more so if you're her brother.)
+ Knows how to speak her mind. Nanami isn't shy and usually says what's on her mind.
+ Caring though it kind of turns into her bossing people around into taking better cares of themselves.
- ... Kind of bossy. She has good intentions but she has a habit of talking too much when it comes to the people she cares about taking care of themselves. She can come off as whiny because of this too.
- Gets weak easily when she lacks food. Despite all her energy, she can lose a lot of motivation if she's hungry.
- Her brother. You can use her brother as a form of torture to her whether you actually hurt him or threaten him. As said before, her bangle she received from Takumi was used to torture her by removing the hand where she wore it.
- Puts too much force into things. While her energy helps her be physically fit sometimes she puts too much into it. For instance where she loses the tennis ball in tennis practice because she hit the ball too hard.
Sob, I somehow cut this part out on accident before.

Samples
First Person Sample: [Today on a certain video feed brought to you by a Wobbuffet, there is a girl on Route 29 facing off against a Pidgey with PokeBall in hand.]
Alright, it's time for my very first Pokemon capture! I'll put everything I've got into it! Here we go with my new special move, "Nanami's Special PokeCapture!"
[And with that, the PokeBall is thrown... with too much force. It goes in the opposite direction of where it's intended heading straight for some trees going, "Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!", before reaching a new target... a certain Wobbuffet's head. There's the sound of a "Wobbu...!" before the PokeGear falls showing up only to the sky. . . Though, you may still hear the voice of a certain young girl speaking.]
Huh? What happened...? Did I miss? Where could it have gone- Ah! [GASP] T-T-T-Tokuuuuuu-! How did it hit you all the way over there!?
Toku, wake up! Open your eyes, Toku! . . . Actually, I've never seen you open your eyes so far, um- Toku, I'm sorryyyy!!
[. . . There's silence for a while before Nanami picks up the PokeGear and can be seen on screen once more.]
U-Um, hey, guys...? Does anyone know a good way of waking up a Pokemon if they didn't exactly get hurt in a Pokemon battle? Uugh, that really sucked. I just wanted to show everyone my first Pokemon capture too...!
Third Person Sample: "Thank you and please come again!" Are the last words from Nurse Joy that Nanami hears as she walks out of Pokemon Center. She stares down at the Pokeball in her hand that holds Toku, her Wobbuffet, inside it and sighs. To be honest, he wasn't really in terrible need of a Pokemon Center visit in the first place but... She doesn't like leaving him in even a tiny bit of pain. She did sort of name him after her brother so she feels an attachment to the Pokemon. Although, her Wobbuffet is much kinder to her than the real deal.
"Hmm, I think I'll let you out now." She said thoughtfully to herself before releasing the blue creature from its Pokeball. Once it had been released from its Pokeball the Wobbuffet stretched, resumed its salute position, and then says its usual greetings to its trainer, "Wobbuffet!" She giggles and nods to the Pokemon in acknowledgment.
"Good to see you again too, Toku!" She greeted back and lets out a sigh again but this time it was a more relieved sigh. It'd taken her a while to notice but she definitely feels calmer with her starter Pokemon out and walking with her. Maybe... she's lonelier than she lets on usually. She'll never say it out loud but she does miss home. She misses checking on her brother and seeing if he had survived another day... Rather, she just misses her brother. Even if he's an otaku that doesn't know how to clean his room, he's still her brother.
She looks down at the ground in front of her lost in her thoughts about home. Her Wobbuffet quickly notices this and pats her on the back in an attempt to comfort her.
"Ah." After feeling the pat on her back, she looks over to her Wobbuffet and smiles back at it. She nods and slaps herself on the forehead a little in exaggeration.
"Don't worry, I'm fine!" She announces loudly making sure anyone could hear it. No she isn't ashamed about it because she's resolving herself and that resolve needs to be said aloud to convince herself of it as well. That's right, there's no point worrying about her brother. He isn't here and there isn't any helping that. She's stuck in a new world with creatures beyond her understanding but she's sure everything will be fine as long as she gives it her all.
"Alright, today's goal is get another level up, Toku! Nanami and Toku's special gym training starts now!" She says proudly to her Pokemon who nods happily in return. At least, she has a goal to work towards. She's going to win all eight gym badges and find her way home since, after all, there's no way her stupid brother can survive on his own for long.
