Thanks! A few of them read this LJ; they pop up now and then when I say something Googlish. (I love the Internets.)
EDU cut? Hmmm... There's no 'Education' section in my resume, and I intend to keep it that way. If that stops them wanting to talk to me, well, I certainly understand. (Thus have I broken the hearts of many a recruiter in my time.)
They are welcome to wait and buy out my startup company later. (I expect that'll cost a bit more, though, n'est ces pas un peep?) ;)
Yeah, there's a formula with the tier of school you get your degree from and GPA and if you're under that I'm told you're wasting your time applying at all. They actually require transcripts. Not having the degree, I don't even bother thinking about Google and, honestly, based on that, I'm pretty sure I'd never work there once I've gotten my degree no matter what they offered me.
Interesting. They'll be missing some phenotypes entirely. Maybe my instinct is correct -- they can just acquire those on the open market. I could see that keeping the hiring process more manageable... and I'll even concede that could actually work out well. But as a strategy, I doubt it's any less of a gamble.

This, of course, makes me suspicious!
But seriously, they seem like a good place to work for. Just don't drink the koolaid, as they say. (Yes! They really say it!)
