Warning: Yeah…there’s a lot of crying!Harry and I think I might have strayed from the challenge a bit. You be the judge. Also I went a little crazy with italics. Sorry if it's ridiculous.
Word Count: 3182
Rating: Hard R
Notes: Sorry this is late; I’ve been a bit of a pathetic person lately when it comes to getting things done. Many thanks to my anonymous beta who is in no way responsible for my tardiness. Also, sorry to all the Ginny-lovers out there; I've been hating on her lately for some reason.

The whisky burned as it slid down Harry’s throat, but drinking dulled the pain, so he swallowed his medicine with a grunt. After all the pain Harry endured at the hands of the Death Eaters, not to mention Voldemort himself, he had been surprised at how much losing Ginny physically hurt. Some days, the pain in his chest was so sharp, it was hard to breathe. It was only alcohol that made the tightness looser, that made the pain dull just a little bit.

“All right mate?” the barkeeper asked, taking the empty glass from Harry.

“I’m fine. Better than fine. In fact, I’ll take another one. Make this one a double.” Harry threw a ten-pound note onto the bar.

The barkeeper shook his head and walked away to pour Harry another whisky.
A young woman came up to the bar and sat next to Harry.

“Hi there,” she said.

Harry looked over at her and nodded.

“So,” she said.

“So,” he said.

“You new to London? I’ve never seen you before and suddenly, you’re in here every night.”

“Yeah. My friends and I moved into a flat just round the corner.”

“That sounds nice.” The woman looked around the bar for effect and asked: “So where are these so-called friends?”

“Probably having sex with each other,” Harry said, not missing a beat. “That’s what they do lately.”

“Oh, that’s no fun for you, is it?”

“Not really. No.”

“Well, maybe we can find something fun for you to do tonight,” she said, smiling and leaning in to him. “My name is Miranda.” She held out her hand to him.

Harry shook her hand saying, “I’m Harry Potter.” He was pleased when his name drew no spark of recognition from her. “Don’t get me wrong about my friends. I’m happy they’re happy and all, but seeing them together-my two best friends-it just reminds me how alone I am.”

“You don’t have to be alone. Not tonight,” she said, running her hand up his arm and squeezing his shoulder. “So where did you come from?” she asked, moving closer to him.

“Well , it’s a really long story,” Harry said, nodding at the barkeeper who put a glass of whisky in front of him.

“Hey, Miranda,” the barkeeper said to the woman. “The usual?”

“Yes, Willy. That would be great.” She turned back to Harry. “So, you were saying.”

“I was saying my story is long and quite unbelievable.”

“Suppose you tell it,” Miranda said. “I’ve got all night,” she said, suggestively.

“Well, I had to leave school early because I had to do go on this really important…errand. I had to leave my girlfriend behind. Anyway, I was gone for over a year. I nearly got myself killed more than once. When I got back, I found out that my girlfriend,” Harry’s jaw clenched when he thought of how she’d told him, “my girlfriend didn’t wait for me. She took up with one of my mates.”

“That witch!” Miranda said.

“Yes, well…anyway. So that happened, and on top of everything, I can’t really go back to my old neighborhood.”

“Why not?”

“Well, first of all, she’s there. And second, everyone knows about my ‘important errand’ and I can’t get a moment’s peace about it. That’s why my friends and I are here. To get away.”

“You know I have to ask: what was the ‘important errand?’”
“Let’s just say I saved the world,” Harry whispered.

Miranda smiled. “So, you saved the world and lost the girl. Do I have that right?”

Harry nodded and drank.

“Your ex is a fool,” Miranda said. “You’re gorgeous.” She put her hand on his arm.

“Thanks.”

“So, you live round the corner?”

“Yes,” he said.

“Well, it just so happens that I live in a flat just upstairs. Would you like to come up?”

Just as Harry was about to answer, the door to the pub opened and Ron and Hermione walked in.

“Shit,” Harry whispered.

“Harry,” Ron said, walking right up to him. “Please come home.”

“I’m busy. Can’t you see that, Ron?” Harry said, indicating Miranda.

“Harry, please come with us,” Hermione said. “Being drunk isn’t going to change anything.”

“Look, just leave me alone. Both of you. In fact, go back to our flat and have all the sex you want in the sitting room, on the kitchen table, I don’t care. I’m not coming home tonight.”

“You’re coming home, mate. Even if I have to drag you there myself,” Ron said, pulling himself up to his full height.

“He doesn’t have to go with you,” Miranda said.

“Please stay out of this,” Hermione said. “Ron calm down. Harry, please.”

“Why should I come home?” Harry asked, raising his voice. “So I can see you both so happy that the war is over and you’re together? So I can see exactly what I’m missing? So I can sit at home and count all the fucking ways that Ginny and Voldemort destroyed my fucking life?” Harry yelled, the lights in the pub flickering over his head.

Ron grabbed Harry by the arm and pulled him off his barstool. “That’s enough,” Ron whispered through gritted teeth. He pushed Harry towards the back door of the bar and Hermione followed.

“I’ll be back, Miranda,” Harry called out as Ron pushed him through the back door.

“Harry!” Miranda called out and then turned to the barkeeper. “I hope he’s all right."

In the alley behind the pub, Harry pulled out of Ron’s grasp. “Let go of me, Ron.”

“Are you mental? Talking about you-know-who and the war in front of Muggles?” Ron hissed.

“Maybe I am. But do you think I care about that? You think I care about anything anymore? All I care about is that nice girl in there who has no idea who I am who wants to fuck me anyway,” he yelled.

“Harry, please calm down,” Hermione said.

“No. Hermione listen to me. You and Ron? You have each other. I have nothing.”

“That’s not true,” Hermione said. “You survived. You saved us.”

“Yeah. I didn’t die,” Harry said. “Everyone thought I was going to die, and I didn’t. But guess what. I gave up my life anyway. I now have no life thanks to Voldemort and your fucking sister,” Harry said, reaching out and grabbing Ron by the shirt. He gasped and his voice hitched in his throat. “She ruined me. She ruined my life,” he said, and he began to cry.

Harry began to fall and Ron struggled to catch him, but the two of them fell to the ground. Hermione knelt next to them and pulled Harry towards her. She rocked him as he sobbed into her shirt and she began to cry as well.

“Shh Harry. It’s all right. Just let it out. Ron, apparate us home,” she whispered.

After looking down the alley to make sure they wouldn’t be seen, Ron wrapped his arms around Harry and Hermione and thought hard about their flat. With a small pop, they found themselves on their sitting room floor.

“She said she’d wait,” Harry sobbed. “She didn’t wait. She took up with fucking Neville of all people. I did everything everyone wanted me to and I have nothing to show for it.”

“Bollocks,” said Ron. “You have us.”

“You have each other,” Harry said. “I just live here.”

“You do have us, Harry. We’ll always be here for you.”

“You’re going to get married and have kids and I’ll visit you guys sometimes, but that will be it,” Harry said, wiping the tears from his cheeks. He pulled away and sat up with his back against the couch.

Hermione sat next to him and said: “Can you count how many nights the three of us slept in close quarters together?”

“It’s got to be more than a hundred,” Ron said.

“And you never wanted to be in the middle because you didn’t want us to think that you needed be protected,” Harry said, turning to Hermione.

“But you always got cold, so we finally convinced you to sleep between us so you’d be warmer,” Ron said.

“Do you know that there are nights that I wake up and panic because you’re not there, Harry?”

“Really?” Harry asked.

“It’s true, mate,” Ron said as Hermione nodded.

“Well, I don’t sleep much lately, because I can’t get used to being alone,” Harry said.

“Why didn’t you say anything, Harry?” Ron asked.

“I dunno. I guess I decided to solve the problem by drinking so much I’d pass out.”

“Well, drinking and shagging random girls isn’t going to change anything that’s happened. You won’t find the answer to your troubles at the bottom of a bottle of whisky,” Hermione said.

“I know. It just…it hurts,” Harry said, wiping another tear away.

“Come on,” Ron said. “It’s late, let’s all go to bed.” He stood and offered them each a hand. As they got up, he led them down the hallway, still holding on to both of them. Harry made to pull away, but Ron didn’t let him go.

“You shouldn’t be alone,” Ron said. “Come sleep with us.”

“You sure?” Harry asked.

“Of course. At least I won’t wake up in a panic that you’re not there and you can finally get a decent night’s rest,” Hermione said.

“Let me change,” Harry said, smiling and walking into his room. When he returned a few minutes later, he was wearing a t-shirt and boxer shorts. He’d scrubbed his face and brushed his teeth.

Hermione and Ron had gotten ready for bed as well and soon the three of them were climbing into bed together.

“Good night,” Hermione said, kissing Ron on the lips. She turned to face Harry and she kissed him on the cheek. “Good night, Harry.”

They settled in to sleep, but soon Harry began to cry again and he held on to Hermione.

“Harry, darling,” Hermione said. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s just…I miss you both so much. I miss sleeping with you. I miss holding you.”

She turned to him, “Shh. I’m right here.” She kissed his wet cheeks while Ron reached over her to stroke Harry’s arm.

Before Hermione knew what was happening, Harry was kissing her lips and she was kissing back and he sobbed as he held her and kissed her.

“Hey,” Ron whispered and Harry broke away.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what I’m doing,” Harry cried, trying to get up, but finding himself tangled in the sheets.

“Where are you going?” Ron asked.

“I’m going to leave. I need to get away from you both. You’ll never have any peace while I’m around. And,” he looked down at Hermione, “I won’t either.”

Ron whispered into Hermione’s ear as Harry untangled himself and stood next to the bed.

“Harry, don’t go. Please stay. Stay here with us,” she said, pulling the covers down and patting the place where he just was.

“Don’t you see? I can’t. I can’t be here as just your friend. I’ll always be jealous. I’ll always feel left out. I can’t just lie next to you and know that nothing is ever going to happen.”

“Who said anything about just being friends?” Ron said, reaching up to take Harry’s hand.

“Get in, Harry. We want you to.”

Harry, a little uncertainly, got back into bed and before he could say how confused he was, Hermione was kissing him. Kissing him in a way he’d only imagined she’d done with Ron. She pulled his glasses off and handed them to Ron behind her. Harry was unsure what to do with his hands, until Ron took one and placed it on Hermione’s hip. She melted into him and brought her body as close to him as possible.

She was curvier than Ginny, softer in places. And she kissed harder. He wanted to touch her all over, but he wasn’t sure how far Ron wanted this to go, but his body was certainly sure, and he felt all of his blood rush down as he very quickly got hard. He was relieved when Hermione ground her hips into his when she felt his excitement. In fact, she reached down and stroked him through his shorts, moaning when she touched him. She broke the kiss and turned to Ron. “He’s so hard and big,” she whispered.

“Mmmm,” Ron said, reaching over her and moving his hand in time with hers. Harry gasped at the sensation of Ron and Hermione stroking him, and he still didn’t quite believe that this was happening.

Hermione whispered something to Ron and then said a little louder: “Go ahead Ron,” but he shook his head. “Please,” she said, and finally Ron climbed over Hermione and straddled Harry.

Ron and Hermione had both stopped rubbing Harry, which was good because he thought he might have come any second. But now Ron was over him and he didn’t know what to think, until Ron spoke. “Harry I--” Ron said, and then he looked over at Hermione who nodded at him to go on. “Harry, I was wondering if you’d let me kiss y--”

But Harry didn’t let him finish because he sat up and kissed the redhead full on the mouth. Ron collapsed down onto Harry and the two of them kissed and held each other like the world was coming to an end. The sensation of Ron’s hard cock rubbing up against his, even through the fabric of their shorts, was nearly enough to drive Harry over the edge.

Ron sat up a bit and looked at Harry who’d begun to cry again.

“What’s wrong,” Ron asked, stilling the movement of his hips.

“Nothing,” Harry said. “I can’t believe this. I can’t believe this is happening.”

“Is it all right?” Hermione asked, wiping his tears.

“It’s better than all right. It’s a fucking miracle.” Harry sat up and kissed Ron again and then he turned and kissed Hermione.

As they kissed, Ron put his hands under the hem of Hermione’s nightshirt and he pulled it up, gently pushing them apart so he could take the shirt off completely. Harry looked down at Hermione’s perfect breasts and then looked up at Ron.

“Go ahead, mate,” Ron said, smiling. “You don’t need to ask me permission to do anything to Hermione. She can answer for herself.”

Harry looked at Hermione. She nodded, smiling at him.

He touched them first, feeling them warm and heavy in his hands, then he kissed her neck and her shoulders and kissed her breasts and licked each of her nipples while she gasped and moaned. Ron kissed her and then pulled his own shirt and shorts off.

Hermione shoved Harry’s shorts down around his hips and pulled him towards her.

“Make love to me, Harry,” she whispered.

“But I-Is it all right?” Harry asked both of them.

“Of course it is,” Ron said thickly. “You’re with us now.”

Hermione lay back on the bed and Harry got between her legs. Ron stroked himself as he watched them, and Hermione reached out and helped him.

“Oh my God,” Harry moaned, sliding into Hermione. He stilled his movements, fearing that if he did move in the liquid ecstasy of her, that he’d come instantly. He caught his breath and moved in slow circles and Hermione brought one of her legs up and over his shoulder. The deep penetration that this allowed, made Harry groan.

Hermione put her hands up over her head and pulled against the headboard for leverage and grunted as she begged with her body for him to pound her harder.

Ron stopped wanking for a moment to reach down and finger Hermione’s clit. She gasped and tilted her hips up another fraction of an inch. Harry watched in wonder as she arched off the bed and came, clenching around him hard. He pushed himself in further and let himself come into her, feeling himself spurt over and over again, until it was like he had no strength left.

Ron was still hard, watching this and stroking himself slowly. Harry, when he caught his breath, looked over and saw Ron caressing his brutally red cock. Still in Hermione, he leaned over and took Ron into his mouth. Ron moaned and guided Harry’s head.

Hermione could feel Harry growing hard again inside her. As Harry licked and sucked Ron, she began to move with Harry again, timing her thrusts upwards with the motion of Harry’s head. Soon, she was coming again and Harry barely had time to register this as Ron came with a grunt. Harry tried to swallow as much of Ron’s come as he could, but Ron’s spasms seemed to never stop.

Hermione’s tightness around him urged him to move with her again, and in a moment, he came inside her for the second time, gasping.

The three of them lay together in a tired heap, no one saying anything for a long while. Finally, Hermione spoke: “It’s a wonder that’s never happened before,” Hermione said.

“I guess so. I mean, there are only so many nights you can sleep next to someone before you start to wonder what it would be like to do more than sleep,” Ron said, yawning.

“The only reason why I never started anything while we were out on the hunt together was because you were with Ginny, Harry,” Hermione said. “I’ve always wanted to,” she said in a small voice.

Ron smiled and started laughing. “What’s so funny?” Harry asked.

“I knew it. You denied it when I asked you about it, but I knew you wanted to,” Ron said, running his hands through Hermione’s hair.

“I never denied that I wanted to be with both of you, what I said was: ‘Harry’s with Ginny so it doesn’t matter what I want.’ Subtle difference. Besides, you wanted to, didn’t you?”

Ron coughed. “Er, yeah.”

“Really?” Harry asked.

“Well, yeah. I mean, I guess I was always a little bit…curious. But I mean, I was more curious about Hermione, obviously. You know, I’m not…you know.”

“Ron, you don’t have to be defensive. I just sucked you off, for Merlin’s sake,” Harry said.

“Oh right. Brilliant that,” Ron said.

“Thanks,” Harry said. “I liked it too.”

They were silent for a while. “So is this--” Harry began

“How it’s going to be from now on?” Hermione finished.

“Yeah,” said Harry.

Hermione looked at Harry and then at Ron.

“This is the way it’s always been, innit? I mean, apart from the sex,” Ron said.

“The three of us against the world,” Hermione said.

“Unless you’d rather go back to the girl waiting for you at the pub, Harry,” Ron said, nudging him with his foot.

“No, I’m good right here,” Harry said, nestling between Ron and Hermione. “And I don’t think I’ll be going back there tomorrow night either,” he said.

“No?” Hermione asked.

“No,” Harry said. “There won’t be anything better than this at the bottom of a bottle of whisky.”
