I had gotten more excited that I should have done about the G.I. Joe sequel. (It has the Rock in it, u guyz! I can't help it!) And it's apparently just been delayed NINE FUCKING MONTHS.

Is this a joke? It's supposed to come out next month. I've never, ever heard of a movie being pulled, literally last second (haven't theaters already done their buys ( Read more... )

Somebody screwed up somewhere. They could shoot an entirely new movie in that amount of time.

I mean, it's not like they didn't know that post-converting was a thing they could do until just before they almost released the movie. This has all the hallmarks of death about it.

What the fuck are they thinking? Most of the viewing public will have stopped caring about this movie by 2013...

It's a giant fucking waste of money, is what it is. How much have they already spent to advertise the damn movie? A lot, I'm guessing, from the ads I've seen on TV and at the movies and what have you. They're probably already working on unloading toys at Target that now no one is going to buy and they'll have to pay for that.

Worse, this is probably indicative of the studio's faith in the movie being worth seeing without the 3D surcharge, which doesn't exactly fill me with optimism, the Rock or no.

Plus, at this rate, the Asylum knock-off will have 3 sequels by the time it comes out...

I guess I shouldn't be so harsh. Battleship has gotten better reviews than Dark Shadows in a lot of venues.
