What was that about counting chickens?

I was so excited about this past weekend. To be fair, I did get a lot done this weekend. In that way, I have nothing much to complain about. I got my bed frame moved against the wall before the new mattress arrived, so it's now flush with the wall, and I got all the space back that I wanted. I then, even with a bad back, got two queen-sized ( Read more... )

That mini-golf was horrendous. Never ever again. I wanted to die.

Why is summer (as opposed to early fall/non-rainy spring) the only time one can comfortably and safely ride a bike in the city? I'd die of heat exhaustion if I tried that shit.

Fall will be okay, provided it's not too cold or wet. Generally speaking, once it gets cooler and wetter, it becomes more perilous to bike. Also, if it gets really cold, it'll make packing a change of clothes--a necessity after exercising--harder.

Wait, so you bike to work in different clothes than you actually work in?

I think that would totally rule out biking to work for me, personally. Ugh. Obviously if I worked in a skirt or whatever I wouldn't bike in that, but I feel like if I had to do it every. single. day. it would not appeal to me at all to have to change my clothes first thing upon arriving.

It's actually nice to sweat out the way up to work in different clothes and change into new ones fresh because in warmer, more humid weather, I sweat anyway. This way, at least, I get to change out of the sweaty clothes before I leave.

Anything good on Netflix? Sorry to hear about the bike - I hope they're giving you some sort of refund for the inconvenience.

There's a bike rider's league or somesuch in the city - they ride in parades sometimes. :)

Nothing very good on Netflix. I finished a season of Weeds and finally saw Coraline, to both of which I was indifferent.

I am getting no refund from the place, they are sending me a new bike. I'm just miffed that I didn't place the order at a place in the city. It would have been $100+ more, but that would have included the tune-up, and, had the bike been a problem, I might have found out earlier. Honestly, I might just cancel the new order from them, see if I can't get my money back. We'll see how quickly they ship me a new one.

Bummer about the bike. That would seriously piss me off and depress me to automatically lose those two weeks of riding time ( ... )

Eastern Promises was just...weird. I couldn't really place how I felt about that movie. Scott Pilgrim I loved, and I hope to see The Expendables this coming weekend.
