Is it too soon to call this genius?

I've only watched the first part so far, but this is both hilarious and accurate and well worth your time if you call yourself a Star Wars fan (but are afraid to say it too loudly lest people think you liked the prequels):

I've only watched the first two parts so far, I am a bit mixed. Some of his comments are really good (eg: the protagonist being an everyman that is brought low and then succeeds, and there being none in the first prequel), but a lot of the jokes/gimmicks are really obvious and kind of detract from the review (eg: the basement in the second part. You'll know what I mean). There's also some bias - people like the prequels less, so they would have fewer memories of those characters regardless of acting and characterization.

That being said, when he's on, he's on. I know I didn't like the movies nearly as much as I enjoyed Star Wars, despite me not being a huge SW fan, but I couldn't have said quite why they were objectively worse movies. Interesting clips.

I finally watched all of it. Yeah, the basement stuff was stupid. It was better just as an extremely nerdy/dorky review than anything else.

That said, where he critiques both storytelling aspects and the story of the prequels, he's spot on. It's amazing how ludicrous it all seems when you take away distractions, of which those movies had maaaaaany.

Yeah, it was like a nerdy film studies lesson. Which I like.

I only watched the first part, and he does have a good point that the characters in the original 3 are better developed and interesting. However, being unable to pronounce the word protagonist certainly ruins his points and credibility some. He also sounds like someone drugged stephen wright and took away the kitche. oh well. just my 2 cents.
