Oh, it is ON.

Last night's Project Runway was probably the freakin' greatest episode of all time. Why? THEIR CLIENTS WERE DRAG QUEENS.

Trinity loves drag queens. I love everything about them. The make-up, the hair, the costumes. Man, I went to a gay bar in Sydney only for the promise of drag queens. One of the ones I saw was probably the prettiest girl in the ( Read more... )

Oh, man, Hedda Lettuce is fabulous beyond all sense. I've seen her live, so funny!

Most of the PR fans I know have been waiting for the drag queens since season 1, so Daniel and Keith were particularly buzz-harshy with the lameness of their designs.

I kind of liked the wrestling challenge.

Hedda Lettuce stuck out like nobody's business. She was just fabulous. She knew what she wanted and was a better bitch about it than anyone. I guess there was a lack of drama with any of the other clients (I know: WHAT!? No drama?! WITH DRAG QUEENS?) that they focused on her because Suede wasn't in the top or bottom. Usually, when they spend that much time on a thing, you know that person is going to win or is going home.

My god, Daniel and Keith are so joyless. They're like VictorYa and Rami from last season. Daniel keeps going "this isn't my thing, this isn't my thing" when his "thing" appears to ONLY be cocktail dresses. You came on THIS show thinking you'd make dresses all day and night? And Keith is the one-trick pony with his shredded garments that look like--what was it they said? "Wookie-wear" I believe. They neither of them will change anything or adapt. Say what you will about Stella and her leath-uh, she can adapt her personal preference and style to the challenge at hand (look at her belt for the last one ( ... )

That was fantastic. And Hedda Lettuce was right. That outfit did look like Godzilla. I loved the kimono, but I'm kinda glad the hot pink sequined cat suit one. That was awesome.

Also, I looked in Time Out NY last night and Hedda Lettuce has a running show in Chelsea where she hosts movies. This week is Some Like It Hot (though apparently Hedda Lettuce is out of town at the moment). This sounds AWESOME. I WANT TO GO.

Hedda Lettuce strikes me as Nina-esque: don't question her, she knows she's right. The cat suit won because Ann Margaret showed the shit out of it. Also because she told Joe how to make his design actually cute instead of it being a 70s ABBA retread in pink. I just can't get away from Terri's design for Acid Betty because she turned the least attractive queen into the most stunning one even with the hair and makeup staying virtually the same. She said at one point she'd worked for drag queens before, and you could tell. She knew how to give a good show and still cater to her client's showy aesthetic.

WE NEED TO GO TO HEDDA LETTUCE'S SHOW. See, this is what I'll miss about it not being in New York next season--I won't be able to enjoy the landmarks as much. We must go.

Never heard of this show, though I do find your entire comment rant about drag queens to be highly highly amusing ;)
