If I ran into him, I'd probably just ask about how various members of his family are doing, in lieu of having the courage to tell him how much I love his shows. Anyway, you remind me of this drabble that I wrote ages ago.
but Miyazaki + Diana Wynne Jones? Fab combination.
But the movie didn't make any sense! At least not without having read the book, say various friends of mine, and having read the book, I think Miyazaki made some very strange choices.

I read Howl's Moving Castle literally more than a decade ago, so I wasn't doing the best book-to-movie comparison. But I thought the movie made sense on its own. It was a fantasy; I didn't mind not having everything explained.

Though I understand your bitterness, re: Howl's Moving Castle. I was still living in Vermont when Princess Mononoke came out, and it never came to the entire state. NEVER. I'm still angry.

Second, I didn't get a chance to look, sadly. He slipped by us in the produce section, then quickly rounded the corner. (Perhaps he caught a glimpse of the wild look in my eyes...) I would have chased after him but...um, yeah. No.
