The masculine smell of Fujimori Satoru was enough to rouse Suzuki Sakomi from a deep sleep and she opened one eye to scan the relative darkness of their shared bedroom.
She didn’t see him right away, but she could smell him and the smell was more than enough to stir her emotions. Satoru made her feel alive and loved. He made her feel special and most importantly… he made her feel female. The very scent of him sent a shot of arousal down her spine, pooling in the core of her body. She sniffed the air for a moment and then, she spotted something on the vanity.
It was a drawing of the Caste Doran gardens, almost like a treasure map. There was an X in the middle of what looked to be a big flower maze. The more Sakomi stared at it, the more confused she got.
“He cannot be serious…” Sakomi muttered. “A treasure hunt? At this time of night?”
She then took notice of a scrawl at the bottom of the map: “Come catch me, my love.”
Sakomi rolled her eyes a little bit, got out of bed and slid a blood red silk robe over her nude form before picking up the map and heading out of her private room to the beautiful, sprawling gardens surrounding Castle Doran.
The full moon hung high in the sky, casting silvery glows across the gardens as Sakomi stepped out into the rose garden, sniffing the air and trying to keep her eyes peeled for her love. At the same time, she was trying to fight back the urges the moon, her mistress, stirred in her. She didn’t want a repeat of the previous month, after all…
Suddenly, she heard a noise behind her and she whirled around, only to see a fleeting glimpse of something black darting through the flowers. She caught a whiff of Satoru and she gave chase. She allowed the smell to guide her and she rushed through the gardens and into the infamous Rose Illusion…. A massive maze designed to fool intruders.
The Rose Illusion was a big maze composed of rose bushes and plants of various colors and sizes and it served as both a security system and as a place for young Fangire to play. It was quite a sigh, especially at night when the moon was full and high in the sky.
The smell of the roses almost overwhelmed Sakomi, but then, at the end of the first corridor, she could see a man dressed in a fine suit and smelling a rose.
Satoru looked up and smiled, suddenly daring her to chase him by the look in his eyes and his masculine scent filled her senses. She was spurred on by his teasing and by the desire she felt stirring with in her. She took off after him, taking care to watch where she was going and to allow her vision to adjust to the night. She had only been Fangiren (a hybrid of Wolfen and Fangire) for a short time and she was still adjusting to her new Wolfen senses.
She stopped for a moment to catch her breath, trying to pick up Satoru’s’ scent among all the roses. She pulled the robe tighter around her body and sighed, inhaling deeply. Satoru was not far off, but she was having a hard time finding where he was.
She began to move again, pausing to pluck a blood red rose off a bush. She placed it in her hair and continued to sniff out her love. Just as she was about to turn a corner, she felt something brush against her skin.
She turned around, only for a fleeting whiff of Satoru to tease her nostrils. She then noticed a glimpse of gold out of the corner of her eye and then, there was a rustle.
“The thrill of the hunt…” She mused to herself.
“The excitement of the chase.” She heard Satoru’s voice whisper in her ear, his voice sending shivers down her spine. She felt his fingers brush against what spare skin he could touch and then, he was gone.
Sakomi’s head was in a whirl. Satoru was definitely taking a page from her book. She’d done this to him once before and now, he was doing it to her. It was quite intriguing. Carefully, she followed his scent trail until she came to a dead end and looked around in surprise.
She’d come to a clearing in the middle of the maze, only to find the moon hanging above and the roses all aglow. It was an utterly magical scene… and there, in the center, covered by what appeared to be a silk robe, was Satoru.
He smiled. “I see you found me.”
“Satoru… what the heck…”
“Well, eventually, you know I was going to get tired of chasing you. So I decided to have you chase me instead.” He chuckled. “And you look beautiful.”
“I have nothing on besides this robe.”
“I know.” He got up and went to her and brushed her hair away. “But still, you look beautiful.” His touch was light and warm and it was so different from Taiga’s that it just made her melt inside. “You’re always beautiful to me, you know.”
When Satoru kissed her softly, Sakomi nearly melted into a puddle. She coud almost feel his love, his desire, and his affection flowing through his body and into her. The kiss made her heart race and her senses flare. It was almost perfect.
…save for the fact that they were still clothed.
Suddenly, Sakomi felt the silk of her robe slide off her body and Satoru’s large hands slide up her back, lightly caressing her skin. The touch made Sakomi gasp a little bit and Satoru stole the opportunity for yet another kiss.
She broke away, short of breath, her fingers clinging t the fang around her neck. It was Satoru’s fang… the proof of his love.
Taking what was a picture perfect opportunity, Satoru undid his own robe. Carefully, and slowly, Sakomi got an eyeful of what she considered to be utter male perfection.
“However could you want Taiga over me?” He asked.
“I had no choice.”
He then said something Sakomi’s bodyguard had once said to her. “A Queen should always have a choice.” He then took the hand that was touching her necklace and kissed it. “And for the record, I’m glad you chose me.”
“You could have any woman you wanted.” Sakomi murmured. “Why me? What was so special about me?”
Satoru suddenly pulled her close to him and then kissed the Queen tattoo right above her left breast. “You are the Fangire Queen. You are beautiful, powerful and special. From the moment, I… no matter which version of me you’re talking about, laid eyes on you, I wanted to have you as mine. I was in love with you from the nanosecond we met. From that first fleeting kiss… to this moment right now.”
Sakomi nearly fainted on the spot. “You’re too much.” When his tongue ran over her Queen mark, her knees went week.
“No. I’m just enough for you, darling.” Another kiss was planted to her lips and finally, Sakomi could ignore her desires no more.
Sakomi wrapped her arms around Satoru’s broad shoulders and pulled him closer to her, deepening the kiss and upping the raw passion. As they kissed, she felt her marks spread out along her skin, giving rise to the moon mark on her thigh.
When they pulled away, her lips were swollen from his attentions and her eyes were a liquid golden color and she was growling low in her throat. Combined with the beautiful stained glass like gold, black and red marks on her skin, she looked irresistible. Satoru’s heart raced at the sight of her and his markings, a deep back and more like vines and flowers, rose to the surface, his eyes shimmering. He let out a low growl and pounced on Sakomi, shoving them back on the ground, landing flat on her backs and on their silk robes.
They barely cared.
Raw passion consumed them, the moon’s power finally taking over and devouring their sense of everything but one another.
Surrounded by glowing flowers and silver light, it was a breathtaking sight, but it was only one Sakomi could imagine. She was too consumed by the fully masculine body currently making love to her.
Satoru was utter perfection and Sakomi wondered how she’d ever managed to survive without him. She couldn’t imagine a life without him again.
He didn’t know much about Sakomi’s life before she’d pretty much dropped out of the sky and into his lap, but Satoru knew, just by the way she kissed him and touched him, that the Satoru she’d known was just like him. She adored him the way she’d adored that Satoru. As he pulled back to breathe and then to kiss her shoulder again, he idly mused about how he’d managed to get such a perfect jewel for a bride.
Of course, when he looked down again and saw his fang around her neck, perfectly pressed against her throat, he knew his answer.
She was his mate and he was hers. Simple. Easy.
“I love you… my Queen. You are my everything.” He murmured as he kissed her again. “My world is yours…”
“…And your world is mine.” Sakomi sighed softly and kissed him again.
The Hunt for a mate for them both, the hunt for a lifetime of happiness… it was all over. They had each other… and that was enough.
