Summary: An anniversary surprise awaits Misako
“Tsukasa?” Misako asked as she came into the main hall of Castle Doran, only to find a photograph of her and her lover, Kadoya Tsukasa, sitting on a table. The picture was shockingly perfect and there was a note written on the back of it.
A proper Queen deserves some alone time with her King. I’m outside in the garden. Come find me.
-Tsukasa
Misako smirked and put the picture down, but not before she pressed the picture to her heart. Today was the anniversary of the day that Tsukasa came into her web, a full year ago. She wondered if he’d remembered and she held the box she’d been holding tightly. Inside was something special for Tsukasa.
Misako began to whistle a tune as she headed out of the living castle and into the garden, where she found a pathway lined with orchids and roses that opened up into the waterfall pond. The waterfall pond was covered in little floating candles on lotus flower holders and it seemed to light up like a sky full of stars.
The Fangire Queen let out a soft gasp. “Tsukasa?” She called, only to be nearly jolted out of her skin.
A splash came from the pond and Tsukasa seemed to rise like a god from the sea, long lean body wet, tanned, muscled… and absolutely delicious.
Misako nearly fainted.
Tsukasa smirked. “Hello, darling.”
“Are you…trying…to…kill me…?” Was all she could get out.
Tsukasa climbed out of the pool, completely nude, fully aware of the way she was looking at him. “No, I was trying to surprise you.”
Misako stared at him, wide eyed, her eyes mostly focused on his long, long legs. “I think you got that accomplished…” She murmured faintly.
“Happy Anniversary, darling.” Tsukasa murmured. “I’ll give you your present later, but this is the bulk of it. A romantic evening, just the two of us.”
Suddenly, Misako remembered the present she’d had for him and she carefully placed it in his hands. “For you.” She said softly. “In case your memories come back and you forget me.”
Tsukasa took the package and opened it up and found a replica of the silver Queen necklace Misako wore around her neck. “Misako…”
“You’re welcome.” She watched as he draped it around his neck and the pendant lay over his heart. She felt her own heart beat a little faster.
“Now…” Tsukasa had a very evil smirk on his face. “Let’s get you out of those clothes and into the water.”
Tsukasa’s embrace felt warmer than ever in the cool water and Misako was more than happy to let him kiss her until they needed to breathe.
“You’re not… going anywhere, are you?” She asked him between kisses.
“What makes you ask such things?”
“Because I worry that you’ll leave me.”
“I would never leave you.” Tsukasa promised. “I told you this already. That day under the cherry blossoms. Don’t you remember?”
“I know… but… you came into my world with no memories or anything… how can I be sure you won’t stray?”
“Do you love me with all your heart and everything you have?”
“Yes? Do you love me that way?”
“Oh, yes… now… that’s how you know. I love you and trust you and you love me and trust me not to forget. That’s all either of us can do, yes?”
Misako was so overcome with an emotion she could not name; she just kissed Tsukasa then, pulling him underwater.
“Tsukasa…” She breathed when they came back up.
“Marry me, Misako.” Tsukasa said at last. “Let’s get married and have a life together… forever.”
Overwhelmed by the racing of her heart, the warmth of their embrace and the love in his voice and actions, Misako nodded, moved to tears. “Yes!” She wept, kissing him again and again until they had no more air. “Yes…yes…yes…”
