TOTALLY Trin. I never thought twice about opening credits until I was watching a commentary on Veronica Mars, and the creator was talking about how much he hates opening credits that are just clips from the shows, but sometimes they can't do anything else, b/c just like with most things on the show, they have an "opening credit budget" and if it's really small, I guess they can buy the rights to a song and get someone to compile it. He even mentioned HBO, and how all their opening credits are just....made of awesome. I guess those shows have a bigger budget. (b/c if you look at them, they are filming stuff for the opening credits on those shows that you never see in the show, I guess that costs more money)

Personally, I like the way credits are being done lately, and that is there ARE no credits. They do that on Lost and Gossip Girl, it's a little bit like that one House, but It gives the show a longer run time if the opening credits are just six seconds as opposed to a full minute or two.

that's is odd: an opening credit buget! I didn´t know that.

And yest, I prefer opening credits like Lost than the usual TV shows (not of HBO or Showtime). BTW, lately I've been watching Grey's (to see Mary) and they have removed the opening credits that they used to have (it was a horrible song, IMO) and now it's like Lost. Desperate Housewives hasn´t it now either, I think.

I agree, those are all great credits. Carnivale's opening credits were also awesome. I'll never forgive HBO for cancelling the show. :(

I also prefer 6-seconds credits like Lost has, to cheesy opening credits that many shows have, usually set to some awful song. Jericho also had very short opening credits, like Lost, and they featured a Morse code message every time (I had to look them up on the net to see what they mean!)

yeah, it's amazing. Looks pretty much similar to True Blood IMO... and the music is by Jeff Beal, Rome composer. Happens that I haven't seen Carnivale yet... it's why I haven't included it in the list. I know...I should watch it but since I know it was cancelled, I feel lazy to watch it.

Oh yes, I always love HBO's opening credits. I haven't watched True Blood yet, but I'll give it a try when it comes out on DVD.
