While attending the LGBT luncheon at the SCBWI conference in Los Angeles, I was able to share a story close to my heart. You may have inspired me to go back to having the MC of one of my books be a girl. Forget the arguments that I could do better with a male protaganist! NO LIMITS! I just have to work a bit harder. Well, it's an option at least. Thanks for giving me something to think about -- even if it's on a lesser scale than your story.

Jim, I totally think you could pull it off. But I do LOVE the basketball story as is. So many authors write as characters that are nothing like themselves. I always think of Peck's quote. Something like, "The only voice a character doesn't need is the author's."

Basketball story always has and always will have male MCs. I'm talking about a different story.
