Wow. I LOVED this, and I dislike football; this was probably the longest amount of time I have actually spent watching football -- but wow, what a clip.
Wow, yes, The Play is the stuff of legends. That play is the most famous playin all of college football, and is one of the most famous plays in all football, partly because John Elway was playing. I'd never seen that clip, though. I'd heard so many stories about the play that I knew exactly what it would look like, though. Still amazing. For a little bit of context, to understand how any players could think of executing a play like that, my understanding is that a lot of those Cal players in that last play were substitutes or something, but for whatever reason they were all actually Rugby players, which is why they were all so quick and skilled at pulling laterals. While I was at Cal the Stanford band did a recreation performance of The Play as part of the half time of that year's Big Game.
