I went to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

I haven't read any of the books. I'm not sure I care... I was a big enough mythology geek when I was younger that it was basically one big game of Spot the Mythological Figure/Creature.

I also realised that swords really do make everything better.

I have no idea if they actually end up shipping Percy/Annabeth in the books, or where they'll go in the movies, but from the... half or so of The Lightning Thief I managed to find time to read once, the minute Annabeth showed up she set off my Future Love Interest mental alert. :\ I'm disappointed it's apparently a bad idea, since I tend to be pretty good at spotting these things and I wish I'd spotted something, y'know, good.

Also: hurrah, swords!
