I came home from work the other night at around 11pm, on the bike, passing a whole lot of police cruisers and a line of flares blocking off a tow truck carrying an SUV. That... was entirely too close for comfort. It must have felt almost unreal.

I'm glad you wouldn't have ended up in the Forbidden Zone around police having to answer their questions about what happened, because that could've gotten uncomfortable fast. I'm definitely glad you wouldn't have ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time like that woman did before that.

I know we hear about thousands of deaths all over the world every day. I don't know why the sheer pointlessness of it strikes me more in this case, of not having even been the intended target - I mean, they're all pointless, on some level I'm aware of that, but for some reason it still does.
