Eames didn't really wake up so much as he became more aware of his surroundings. He was naked, which made sense, considering the last few days, laid out on his stomach, tail curling lazily over one naked thigh. His ears were relaxed and barely twitching, his arm thrown over someone's back, one leg pressed between theirs.

It hadn't helped that Arthur had always felt some kind of attraction to the orange tabby - even while he had irritated Arthur to the point of fights breaking out and blows being dealt.
Often times it had been over Eames' presumption that Arthur desired him as a mate (Eames would constantly try to twine his tail with Arthur's, rub his scent onto Arthur and his things, nipping at his ears, and other intimate gestures that were not to be tossed about the way the forger had been with Arthur for months now) and now, as Arthur was finally out of the grip of heat, he slowly opened his eyes, ears twitching and his memory of the past few days foggy ( ... )

"Well, I see that you're back to your normal cheerful self," he said with no small amount of sarcasm, ears flat and tail flicking annoyed behind him.
Just, for a moment, Eames had thought that Arthur had maybe decided that Eames wasn't so bad. Eames had misjudged that one harshly though, it seemed.
