Checking the CIA factbook.. their population is just a tad over 4 million--in 1830 it was over 8 million..

According to some of the articles I have been reading.. Ireland gets to enjoy the wonders of immigration vs emigration.. and according to the CIA factbook--they have more migrants per thousand than we do...

So far as I can tell.. they are a new immigration center.. so much so.. that for the first time in their history, they are having to deal with immigration laws to keep people out.....

As for their Jewish population.. that, overall, seems to be a common phenomenon throughout most of Europe these days.. Germany's Jewish population has also been drastically declining.. as have other countries... perhaps due to the fact that Europe is constantly bitching about Israel being mean to the Palestinians and the general increase in blatant anti-semitism that occurred when the iron curtain came down...
