After slipping out of the hospital, Riza had returned to her apartment. The bright blue uniform was left behind in favor of all black, making it easier for her to hide in the dark. When the fight started, she would be keeping out of sight and striking from a distance. Her guns slid into the holsters with practiced ease, and she felt that familiar thrum of adrenaline that came before a battle.

There was some fear tangled in that she hadn't experienced before, but she shoved it aside. She needed to go after Elena and bring her back.

Never the most talkative, Riza had even less words to share than usual as she moved into the square to join Cloud and the others, running through checklists and scenarios in her head. A way to keep calm and focused so that she could do her job. This time she would make it count.

Ana had taken little time to equip herself with what she had that she needed. A gun and extra ammunition. That was it. Black and furry, Shyama was huge now as he patted along ahead of his mistress. His bright green eyes shown bright as he kept a close ear and eye at every intersection.

The blond-haired Turk kept checking the safety on her gun as it rested in her holster. Soon she arrived in the square. Keep your head clear and think of it as a mission. It is a mission. Yet, it's Elena. Incapacitate her if necessary. Jenova cells, shit. Shaking her head slightly, Ana breathed deeply.

As soon as Shyama caught sight of his sister Freki, he let out a low and subtle bark.

Spike had called for aid, had hatched a plot, and Zack wasn't about to ignore the request. Especially not when it was his best friend, or anyone else, really. This was all part of the job, and this was the part that brought a smile to his face, made him feel like he was making a difference, made him feel like a hero.

Zack didn't bother creeping up to the meeting point, not when he knew Cloud was waiting. What normally would have brought out the playful side of him, the smiling, one-arm-slung-around-strong-shoulders side, was gone and replaced with a confident, serious, battle-eyed Zack. This wasn't about just a mission any more; it was a rescue agenda.

That, and a chance to stop those silver-haired pain in the asses. Maybe, in the end, that was the most important thing of all.

Tugging the sword from the sheath at his back, he tilted his chin up in a smooth greeting. "Is this everyone, or are we expecting more when we get there?"

Aerith was never really much of a fighter, but she was never the type of girl to back down when someone else needed help, either.

With Princess Guard grasped tightly in one hand, Aerith arrived at the specified destination. She was already beginning to feel jittery, nervous, but she gave her comrades a half-hearted smile nonetheless.

"Ready when everyone else is." She felt her heart skip a beat, and she prayed silently that the confrontation ahead of them wouldn't turn too ugly. With the amount of people they had, it was unlikely, but the bad guys never really played fair.

(It's been a while, so going ahead now. Any latercomers can meet them at the church.) wolfsstrife June 14 2009, 13:02:47 UTC
Time was ticking on. Cloud nodded to the guys who'd shown up. "I guess this is us. The others know where the church is if they're coming." He didn't blame them for not; things sprung up at the last minute, and the Remnants were always pretty dangerous. Kurama had at least dropped off those seeds with him. Maybe they'd be useful; as far as he knew, Sephiroth's triplets didn't like plants ( ... )
