Kakuzu was not, in fact, particularly interested in the current goings-on of the city. Not that he was disinterested, he would keep an eye on things. He would need to make alliances at some point, likely, but he was in no rush. In many ways he could be a very patient man. Terribly patient.
But there were a few things he was missing. One, was good food. He had been informed where he could find it, and now that he was more settled into this place, here he stood outside the eatery, smelling Aaron's cooking. The other thing he missed--aside from money and everything that inherently came with it--was going to be trickier to find, he suspected.
Kakuzu might have to move on his own, about it. But that was neither here nor there.
The man entered the eatery, ducking just a little under the doorway, as was habit--few doors back in his world were tall enough for him.
The door creaked when it opened, alerting the blonde to the new occupant, causing him to stop, mid-step, turning to face the doorway.
"Hey! Welcome to the eatery! You must...be new..." those blue eyes slid over Kakuzu in surprise, head canting to the side in an almost puppy-like manner. Well. Kakuzu was a new face, to be certain. He oculd safely say he'd never laid eyes on him before...and he looked...dangerous.
"Would you...like something to eat? Or something to drink? The water's safe here, I promise!"
Kakuzu was distantly, mildly amused by the reaction. Aaron had been expecting someone less... Menacing. Less tall and quiet and imposing. Too bad. The Waterfall-nin had no intention of concealing what he was, but then again, he had no intention of being threatening, either.
He was there for business, after all. Aaron's business, specifically. A free meal wasn't to be turned down. Old habits died hard.
"Tea." He spoke after a moment's long pause, just watching Aaron, openly studying the puppy-like boy. Not particularly menacingly, but probably not a comfortable sensation, to be so closely scrutinized by a stranger.
"And whatever you have to eat." His voice was gruff, a little gravelly and low.
"O-of course!" he bobbed his head and turned away-the wolf following at his side, giving Kakuzu an unimpressed sort of appraising look as he followed his master to the back door that led to the kitchen. The two coyotes looked up as well, eying Kakuzu with interest...but wisely kept to their side of the room, far away from the other for the time being.
Tea. Tea and food. Well, that he could do. It didn't matter who Kakuzu was...Aaron liked to keep his establishment neutral grounds since everyone needed to eat, after all. As long as he wasn't caught int he crossfire, he was happy.
A few short moments later he was returning with a small tray plate of several skewers. Some sort of bird that tasted...rather like chicken, spiced with garlic and some tomatoes from Kurama's garden. Simple, effective fair. There was soup as well, in a small bowl, and beside it, a mug of tea, still steeping, steam curling upwards.
