Sakura certainly woke up with an ache in her head. Not in her neck, which didn't immediately register, because as soon as she was awake she was busy cataloging other things. The ropes and metal around her wrists, the bindings on her feet, and the gag were the first things she noticed. She didn't test them immediately though, lay perfectly still as she took in the rest of her surroundings and situation.

Her head head, but it was pillowed on something soft--which was weird, almost like her captor wanted her to be comfortable? And if her captor was the same person she recalled five seconds before blacking out, that was just downright strange.

She was breathing in dusty musty air, and the light in here was poor, and there was someone else, just out of her immediate vision, in the room with her. Sakura could feel the irritating itch of being watched. They probably already knew she was awake ( ... )

There was nothing as perceptible as a hitch to her breath when she woke, but it did change. Kyuubi had been listening to the even lull of inhale-exhale for some time and when Sakura regained consciousness that rhythm shifted pace ever so slightly, enough to have him glance up at least ( ... )

The foot tapping the crate drew her gaze immediately, left her considering the wolf in sheep's clothing idly lounged and reading there. It kind of pissed her off--scared her more than she wanted to admit--to see her friend's face so casually indifferent, vague and aloof and nothing like the Naruto she cared for.

Made her want to punch things.

Her gaze flickered away from him, at the walls--she guessed it was a basement, from the feel of the air and the muffled sounds of traffic, too distant. There was probably no one around to hear her scream, anyway. And if there was, they'd just be civilians, what could they do? She wouldn't involve the helpless.

Sakura nodded, as much agreement and promise as she could offer, under the circumstances. Even if he wasn't looking at her, she guessed he'd catch it.

There was the fleeting and satisfying fantasy of biting his hand if he removed the gag. Just... the spiteful thought that she might be fast enough to. It wouldn't accomplish anything though, except maybe to make her feel better.

A nod of affirmation and Kyuubi heaved an internal sigh. Despite his offer, the idea of listening to Sakura still was not exactly appealing( there was little doubt to him that once she could talk, she would, or possibly scream) and a tiny part of him may have been hoping she would be irate enough to just… glare at him with those green eyes and outright refuse his offer ( ... )
