Summary: Atra's curse takes hold, and there's two Lucifers in World's End. (Posting this early since I have to go to a meeting tomorrow and those suck time up.)

Lucifer had been tidying up for the night when Michael had gone to bed. He had just moved on to the glasses, putting them away in the cabinet, when the sense of his brother vanished. The glass he had been holding fell forgotten from his hand, shattering as he turned to the stairs. Mind working too fast, his first thought carried him out from behind the bar. Michael had disappeared, gone back to his hellish world. He slowed, finally stopped, while the old familiar loss crept over him. Running upstairs would do no good. At first, one could have believed it was Michael himself. The boots were recognizable, leather and knee high. The pants could have been the same, leather although a little baggier than the skin-tight ones Michael favoured. The belt at his waist could have possibly been the same, perhaps. Even the shirt was alike, leather and half-undone, missing one sleeve while the other was whole. Belts ran over it, a collar around the pale white throat although it lacked the ring for binding that Michael had ( ... )

There was a moment’s uncertainty as the man came into view. There was a passing resemblance to Michael’s manner of dress - similar garments worn to a different style - that placed him as a being from his brother’s world. An angel, from the presence he gave off. And then Lucifer saw his face and knew, despite the disparity of features, that this was Michael’s twin ( ... )

Little wonder Michael had fits over his height. Michael had barely made it over five feet, and Lucifer was at least six foot. His eyes stayed on Lucifer, watching him steadily. It made no sense who this person before him was. The power was the same, yes, but the levels went far beyond his own. Several options were considered and cast aside, none fitting what could have been or would have been ( ... )
