Just posting to let people know that I'm okay, was cut off from the Internet from Monday until today (Sunday). Not having television or Internet is annoying, but not nearly as bad as being without power, or heck as many people South of me are, without homes. This whole storm was just such a tragedy!

Glad to hear from you and very glad that you have been okay (although, yeah, not having Internet must be annoying). Seems like you're doing better than my family with the power - guess that's the advantage of living over the city borderline ;-)

So glad to hear from you (((Kyra))). How is your family holding up? Mine still doesn't have power, and I am getting very angry at LIPA. Internet at my place has been spotty, so updates here will be sporadic.

Yeah, my parents still doesn't have power either. They both have to work in the city today and told me they were actually staying in a hotel! They are of course pretty annoyed as well. But naturally I am glad that the lack of power (admittedly for over a week) and the lack of gas for the cars are the worst of their problems.

The lack of power and gas is driving me crazy, never thought I would see something like this in the NY area.

Glad to hear you're safe. We didn't get hit nearly as hard down here, but our place lost power for about 20 hours. We live in a house with a finished basement now (just moved in a few weeks ago), and the power loss meant the sump pump didn't work, so the basement flooded. We ended up with a messed up computer, several power cords that were killed, and the need to replace the carpet and some furniture. My renters insurance won't cover any of it.

Anyway...you going to be at Adam's this year? If so, we'll see you there!

I'll be there...

Flooded basements are always difficult and annoying., and bad if the insurance doesn't cover it.
