I don't like the new layout, I thought Facebook was bad, but this? Are they trying to drive what is left of your userbase away? I'm not talking about the ones who left for Dreamwidth, but the ones who left for Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook. Getting rid of the ability to preview comments ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm not crazy about it either. I can only guess that they changed things to try to keep up with all the other popular sites there are now.

I misread your last sentence at first BTW and thought they *did* change our privacy settings. I had a heart attack :-\ If that every actually happened, I'd be DONE. Revealing someone's private journal would just be terrible.

What really bothers me? The thing I like about LJ is that it was never, ever Facebook. When people say "social networking," I always think, to hell with that, I social networked before it was cool. Now they're trying to be the very thing I always felt killed social networking to begin with.

I'm not saying LJ didn't always have flaws or that Facebook's evil, but... I don't know. (ETA: I had a mini rant here but realized your entry's public, so I erased it for reasons that may be clear if you got an email notification. Basically about annoying LJ people, but still people I like and wouldn't want to see.. that.)

Once more people I know go to DW, I'll use it more. Right now there's two people on my flist there or something, so I don't see the point.
