Visual effects artist Stan Winston passed away yesterday. As a horror movie junkie, I can't help but feel the loss of a kindred spirit. Stan set and re-set the bar for quality in special effects with every film he worked on, and the monster movie world is somehow less horrifying now that he is gone.

You will be missed.

The next few months will see the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman in the DC universe. O_O
