Being tolerant is something I like to consider myself as well, but a while back I came to a conclusion: that I was no longer going to tolerate intolerance. Don't know if you've read Sam Harris's book The End of Faith or not, but he makes an excellent point that masquerading anything under the guise of religion immediately gives one a "get out of jail free card" if you will. In other words, it's the one thing that we aren't allowed to dismiss or look at critically, and all in the name of tolerance.
I got accused of intolerance on my LJ a while back due to an anti-Christian piece. I don't care what people believe in: god, allah, buddha, krishna, or the flying spaghetti monster, but I have the right to criticize their fallacious beliefs. And when they in their religion step over the line, as these fucks clearly do day in and day out, then we have the right to speak out and fight against them.
That doesn't mean you're intolerant. Rather, fighting intolerance means you're practicing the highest form of tolerance.

Gotta say though, they are equal-opportunity haters.

People can make all the points they want--the truth is, we all know an asshole when we see it. It looks like this:

I've never been directly accused of intolerance, which is odd, because I'm just as asshole as everyone else.

Is that some crazy obscure verse from Revelation or something?
And don't you find it ironic that in actuality, if one believes in transubstantiation, the children are actually eating their father?
