I work in the Boursa area in Ramat Gan, and if you don't start walking out into the road, you're never going to manage to cross... I've literally seen people wait five minutes to cross because they wanted to wait until traffic was completely stopped for them before they crossed. When any normal person living in this country knows that the second you step out onto the road, the drivers will stop (and actually, as far as I recall, it's actually illegal for them to carry on driving if you have stepped into the road...)

as a learning how to drive person.. i know that i'm supossed to stop at the cross walk but it's so freakin hard so i always hope that the people will let me drive by first!

Even if the people at the crosswalk do stop, aren't you supposed to wave them to go by anyway?
