What do you mean, left and right have different connotations? Both here nd there, left is liberal, and right is conservative.

But the issues are different. In America, left-wing and right-wing are a lot about economic issues.

Left is still pretty much anti-war even in America, it just doesn't take centar stage as much because there's less terrorism there.

Also, liberal and conservative don't necessarily correspond with left and right; it all depends on the status quo in society.
