Blue Fringe

Last night, Adi, Talia, Rivky and I went to see Blue Fringe in concert in the city. New York is great lately. Lots and lots of people whom I wouldn't even call protesters--really, they're just random people walking around the city in anti-Bush shirts. And some roads blocked off. and I wrote them a note before the concert (well, Rivky wrote it, but I helped) asking that [1] Avi1 take off his shoes (because he did it at the first concert of theirs we went to and we thought it was the coolest thing ever2),

That is cool and different. I don't see a lot of barefoot musicians on stage. Bare-chested musicians maybe, but not barefoot ones.

It is cool and different. I mean, it wasn't like it was on stage in front of hundreds of people--it was a small concert, actually in someone's basement--but still, it was cool.

'New York is great lately'
nooo, tzippy dedoda, come home - now! before its too late! ny is not great, kikar zion is great, in israel you can protest with the protesters - and roll your rrs. - not that i have any time to protest but that's coz im doing yishuv e"y - come home! did i mention idt is csm, but they pay less in israel, ma la asot - stuff cozt less here.

er... yes it does. new york is always bad. i love it, all the olim chadashim on this kibbutz really dont like america - those who come from there - yay!

There are aspects of American culture that I don't like, yes, but the reason I'm making aliyah is to go to Israel, not to get away from America--that would be stupid, because New York is awesome.

And New York is awesome. Except you'd probably hate it.
