winter wonderland

My friend jiantonic just made a very astute observation about why us Southerners-by-upbringing/birth (and I use the term southern loosely, as some would not consider Virginia southern, per se) are much more appreciative of snow than Northerners. I'm not much of a runner because I find it terribly boring and hard on the shins, but I can imagine that if I were a runner then running at night in the snow would probably be my favorite time as well. I love snow. Even when it's a pain the ass. To me, there's not much that compares to snow in terms of sheer beauty.

Well, hi there. :)

I know. How can you not love snow? Although I have good friend from Georgia who lived in Virginia for two years when I still lived there, and I distinctly remember her thinking I was insane for walking around outside on a snowy evening. It was just so beautiful--freshly fallen and lovely--but she said she'd rather sit inside and watch the snow with hot cocoa. Ah well. To each her own.

I'm so glad I could contribute to a happy memory for you.
