Writer's Block: Jumped the shark

In my ever so humble opinion, 'House, MD'.   The way it ended last season was the final straw for me.  I will not be watching the new season.  You know a show has jumped the shark whenever all the hard-earned growth of your lead character is just flushed down the toilet.  Round and round we go.  I told myself that I would be finished with the show ( Read more... )

I stopped watching House sometimes around season 4 or 5. The last episode I remember is Wilson's girlfriend (Amber?) dying in the bus crash. Not like I hated the series at that point, I just lost interest. I always liked the professional relationship House and Cuddy had with each other and thought it was refreshing that the writers weren't shipping these two strong characters. Looks like I stopped watching at the right time, I wouldn't have cared to see them getting into a relationship.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I really think I watched as long as I did because of Thirteen. *ashamed* I love Olivia Wilde. I'm just glad that she's getting more gigs in film so I no longer have to loiter around 'House' to see her in action. She was M.I.A. during most of the last season anyway since she was so busy with 'Tron' and 'Cowboys and Aliens' and such.

But yeah. You DID stop at the right time if you didn't want to see them go the House/Cuddy route. From Season 5 on, it became one of the main focuses of the show, and peaked with them in an actual relationship last season. The season finale featured House crashing his car into her living room as a final gesture of their break-up. *laugh* Such ridiculousness. Cuddy's actress has left the show, and the upcoming season's gonna have House in jail for what he did.

At any rate, I'm finished with it.

This is my fear for Fringe and I respect your choice regarding this matter.

They ended their season on quite a quirk and while I think they could make it work and continue the show, I'd also be happy to keep it as "the end".

Because these are some of the same people who wrote LOST and...the way that show went on and on and on and didn't tie up wasn't cool (so glad I bailed after the second season, despite loving some of the charas).
