I'm an artist, not an author, but I have a question about this double claiming/second claim thing as ypu explain it here: I understand that due to the number imbalance, a couple of art drafts get claimed twice right away, and then these artists arrange themselves with two authors somehow ( ... )

Hmm, you bring up a good point. I'll need to discuss this with my co-mod when she gets home. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey, we've decided to remove the option for an author to claim multiple pieces. Hope that clears that up.

umm... yes, the double claiming makes me a bit nervous since I submitted 2 pieces of art. Does that mean it's possible that in a worst case scenario, I'm going to be juggling 4 authors?

Hi :) The initial artwork should be done mostly with your own ideas, and just keeping communications open about what you have in mind and what you're going to be doing with the artwork should solve that problem i.e. giving the author some sort of timeframe for completion of your artwork, or just keeping her updated about what you're doing so that you can both make your works evolve separately but the authors have your input in mind. Any further pieces beyond the initial artwork are between you and your author. I'm afraid we don't know of any fairer way to resolve the author-artist imbalance since the authors signed up to write for art, and we don't have enough artists/artwork for all of the authors for just single claims at the outset.

We'll be sending out an email to all parties with the contact info for each other. At the latest, the email will go out at some point tomorrow. I'm aiming for some time tonight if possible.
