Just one question? In this sentence, about 2/3 down the page, where Bones is thinking he could be next to Spock on the observation deck, should the word be "standing" instead of "stood"?

This is great. I'm really enjoying it. I usually wait to the last part to comment, but I wanted to add this:

"Perhaps your dislike of the soup speaks more about you and your questionable pallet, then the meal itself?” pallet should be palate
