URGENT - Will English's ACEN ad, NEED MANY OPINIONS

Hey guys,

This is the ad I designed for addrlegend aka Will English to go in the small program book for Acen. He likes it but is uncomfortable at the same time because he doesn't do much self promotion. Please give your honest opinion of what you think of the ad, along with some design crits. THIS IS URGENT, need responses by tomorrow morning at latest.

I agree with browniebag and elspethnoir. I think it looks a bit busy right now, and one or two pictures might look clearer.

Script typefaces are nice for personal touches, but I see that you already have Will's hand written signature (which is a really nice touch). So, to keep with the elegant look, maybe a serif like Bernhard or something~

Also, when ads are congratulating someone on something (I remember when the Bears made the superbowl, and there was a bunch of "CONGRATS BEARS", then only a small portion found be like "from macy's". So I don't think the ad is misproportioned in that sense. You are appealing to more of an audience in that sense, I think, but if Will would like his name bigger, well... gotta do what the client wants :p.

The other poster was correct. You only use an apostrophe when you are making the contraction of it is, the possessive doesn't use one (the exception that proves the rule, I guess.)

I also pretty much agree with the general consensus. The purpose of the ad is to congratulate Acen as opposed to advertise cardcaptor will per se, so I personally would choose one well-known pic that most everyone who attends regularly will recognize, and then make the bulk of the ad the actual congratulations. And I also agree that the font is too much of a muchness in this case.
