Warnings: Violence, swearing, and implied slash. While there aren't exactly spoilers for Firefly, a general knowledge of the show helps.
Summary: There was a war, and they lost. For the crew of the Enterprise, everything they know can be traced back to that. But when a commonplace passenger proves to be anything but, the crew discovers that the Federation isn't done with them yet. Now, it will take everything they have to stay one step ahead of the Federation and to keep the Enterprise in the sky where she belongs.
Author's Notes: This is part one of a series. It's a crossover of sorts wherein I drop my Star Trek into my Firefly, mix well, and do away with the inconvenient stuff. My sincerest thanks go to amberis, who listened to me whine incessantly, and whochick, who went above and beyond a beta's duties to listen, read, and keep me from just deleting the whole thing in a fit of pique and insecurity. Keeping with the Firefly spirit, there is some Chinese (and a bit of Russian) tossed in here. I ganked all phrases from the Firefly Chinese pinyinary and Google translator; I apologize for any and all inaccuracies.
