I am a bundle of nerves!

In 12 days, I have the belly dance of doom.  DOOOOM.  I really hate that I got myself into this-- I just went along with a friend to the class thinking it was like aerobics, you know.  You look like an idiot but you have fun and get exercise and everyone's happy, right?  Then came the announcement that our class, now

I wish I could belly dance. And speak French. Those two combined basiclly make you the hottest person ever. Damn.

I feel very bad for you on the belly dancing thing. That sounds terrifying!

I was surprised at the number of students in France when I was there who barely spoke a lick of French and got by just fine somehow. And in my experience, 'un petit peu' means they have a better grasp on English than I have on French because they only started learning English when there were 10 as opposed to 5 or something.

I'm sure your body is just doing crazy things right now.

you know, the sad thing here is... I'm my own worst critic.

I mean, I totally speak French. Most Americans would consider me fluent. But I want all Americans who teach French to consider me fluent. And French people to consider me fluent. Not just acceptable or good or what have you. I want to see that category "near-native fluency" and be SURE that is me. I want to hear that interview question and not just understand it without a problem, but also to answer it fluidly.

You will be your normal wonderful self! I can imagine it is terrifying but you can handle it.

As far as pregnancy, your body is prolly just reacting to the nerves.
