Awwww, i'm just so sad about Steve Irwin.  I got hooked on the guy after seeing that very first special.  He was just so.... sweet beneath all the hype.  I cried with him when his croc Mary died.  And when Suey got cancer.  He really had a lot of love

Oh, Suey. I totally forgot about that - I just bawled right along with him when that happened. I was such a big steve fan - I made Matt watch that wretched movie that he made and everything. For a good long while I planned on majoring in zoology mostly because of the inspiration his show gave me. He just seemed like he was having such a good time out there with his crocs. Eventually I quit because of the math requirement, but I still appreciate the love of nature that Steve embodied.

Poor Teri indeed. I think few people are made for each other like they seemed to be. But like you said - better this than some completely inappropriate thing. He was, at the very least, doing what he loved to do.

And Oh! I can't forget the most important lesson Steve Irwin taught me.

"It doesn't count unless you touch it."

I suppose you can take that a number of ways, but lord knows I've spent more than my share of time chasing a garden-variety garter snake around trying to catch it, just so "it counts".
