We watched it yesterday, too. But I didn't like it that much. The story was going too fast, it was more like a very long prequel, that was going nowhere. It would have moved me more, if you really had the chance to see the development of Maleficent's and Stefan's relationship, and then play out the betrayal. The story seemed so constructed and unreal to me, just as you said about King Stefan turning evil. It doesn't seem logical that such a nice young lad would become so ambitious that he would hurt his fairy friend so much. And it also didn't seem logical to me that such a nice little fairy like Maleficent would turn so mean as to curse an innocent girl. Most of the character development seemed constructed and unnatural, maybe because they had to follow the original script of Sleeping Beauty. But the fairy realm was rather pretty and I liked Aurora. She was really charming, even as an infant.

But my favorite character was also Diavan, and Eddy's too.
