there's an issue with the bootstrap portion of the hard drive. if i remember correctly, OS 9 needs to be installed on the first partition then OS X on the second.

i've looked around, and there's talk about unrecoverable files. did she do a backup?

She does not have a complete backup. she has filed from Before Feb but not after. Unfortunately her backup was deleted right before the partitioning was done. She can she that there are files but she can't access them.

I think that x was on the first partition and then 9 on the second, but now she can't find the first partition.
